WINTER IS HERE! Despite the worldly population thinking (read: saying) that Australia is the sunny country that never gets cold, we very much have a winter here with single-digits temperatures – especially the further down south you travel.

So it’s not all board shorts and thongs all year round, though you may find a few lurking around Bondi sporting this outfit, because, you know; ‘STRAYA!

Either way, cold often equals flu-like symptoms, dripping noses, clogged up sinuses, relentless coughing and a body that’s aching from the changing seasons, so what better way than turn to the HOT DRINKS of the Winter to heal your body from the inside-out?

Read on to find your favourite pick of the bunch..

Turmeric Latté:

..also known as ‘Golden Milk’; is a great and incredibly healing drink that you can either whip up at home or order at a fair few cafe’s now.

Made from a blend of turmeric and other spices such as cinnamon, pepper and ginger it is praised for its anti-inflammatory properties, curcumin, the active compound found in turmeric, is also held up as a weight loss supplement, a cognitive brain-booster and a treatment for diabetes, amongst other things..

Try it with an almond or coconut milk, to make it even more yummy!

Matcha Latté:

A perfect MATCHA-made in heaven.. Matcha Latté’s has been around for a little while now and is (almost!) a regular kid on the block by now, and there’s certainly a reason to this if you look to the health benefits of this little green soldier; packed with antioxidants (more than fruits & vegetables), boosts metabolism and burn calories, detoxifies the body, rich in fibre, chlorophyll and vitamins.. Have I convinced you yet?

Matcha has a particular taste, so if you’re first trying this out, I suggest you add a bit of honey or natural stevia to it, as it otherwise has quite a bitter taste.. But once your tastebuds have adjusted, there’s no going back, sweetheart #addictedforlife

Dandelion Latté:

Addicted to coffee? No sweat, we’ve all been (read; are) there! But don’t fret, there are ways to combat this. Also feeling tired and fatigued? Chances are, you may be suffering from adrenal fatigue, which normal coffee can be the sinner of..

Getting off the coffee for a few weeks will be your best option, and you don’t have to miss out on the taste of it though, just the caffeine.

Dandelion is a great, herbal alternative as it (almost) tastes like coffee, however without the caffeine and so much better for your internals along with your adrenals.

Dandelion is great for detoxing the liver, full of vitamins A, B, C & D as well as minerals. It also aids in digestion, helps to ease bloating and swollen joints, regulate blood-sugar, and improves blood circulation in general. Winner, right?

Try it with a delicious, creamy coconut milk and be sure to add a bit of stevia to sweeten the bitter taste. Voila!

Beetroot Latté:

Yes, beetroot.. No, it won’t taste like dirt.. I know what you’re thinking!

It’s actually a delicious, sweet(er), creamy concoction and it’s jam-packed with nutrients. Beetroot-powder (which the drink is made of) is rich in antioxidants, dietary fibre, calcium, iron, potassium, folate and manganese, along with other nutrients. Beets are actually naturally rich in nitrate which are compounds that can improve blood flow and lower blood pressure.

The plus-side? Not that you need more reason to drink this, but it looks pretty darn GOOD in a SoL-Cup too #Instagramworthy
